Spring is here in the Northern Hemisphere. But while the blossom and leaves are emerging, butterflies, ladybirds and bees are beginning to dazzle us with their beautiful dancing routines, many of us are staying in to try and halt the global spread of the Covid-19 virus, by self-isolating and social-distancing, actions that are in total contrast to our human nature.

Wherever you live, we hope you, your family, friends and colleagues are safe, healthy and staying calm amidst the uncertainty.

In moments of isolation and fear it is important to foster relationships of care and solidarity. In this spirit, it is my sincere hope that we still can remember and recall the beauty, wisdom and the hopeful message of this day, 20 MARCH.

 Yes, Lest We Forget

Desperately seeking Sophia: The Wisdom of Nature

“Be like the sun for grace and mercy.

Be like the night to cover others’ faults.

Be like running water for generosity.

Be like death for rage and anger.

Be like the Earth for modesty.

Appear as you are.

Be as you appear.”- Rumi

2- March 20 International Day of Happiness: Let's reclaim it!

In 2012, the United Nations (UN) declared March 20 to be observed as the International Day of Happiness

March 20 marks the United Nations International Day of Happiness. The Kingdom of Bhutan, known for adopting Gross National Happiness as a measurement of its people’s prosperity, started the initiative for a day devoted to happiness. All 193 UN member states then adopted the resolution creating a day to inspire action for a happier world. On the first celebration of the Day, in 2013, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said, “let us reinforce our commitment to inclusive and sustainable human development and renew our pledge to help others. When we contribute to the common good, we ourselves are enriched. Compassion promotes happiness and will help build the future we want.”- Happiness…can change the world: Let’s reclaim it!

A Dream Of You And Me

Let us come together in one and declare this day, 20 March, The Day of Hope for the Common Good. Think about it: Together, selflessly, we can move mountains, we shall overcome, we can move from BadLands to The Promiseland. Yes, We Can!

Hope, the common good and our duty to the future

"When we contribute to the common good, we ourselves are enriched. Compassion promotes happiness and will help build the future we want”

From Perpetual and Deepening Crisis to an opportunity for discernment, to shape a new vision for the future and to heal ourselves and our world.

The time is Now to Be A Crusader for Hope and the Common Good

Composing a New Life, it’s all about taking the broadest possible view of ideas, people, places, and things to make better choices for the long term. At the centre of it all is the notion of wisdom and taking action in the interest of the common good.

Do you hear that voice calling you, calling us?
