"Paradise or no paradise, I have the very definite impression that the people of this vicinity are striving to live up to the grandeur and nobility which is such an integral part of the setting. They behave as if it were a privilege to live here, as if it were by an act of grace they found themselves here. The place itself is so overwhelmingly bigger, greater, than anyone could hope to make it that it engenders a humility and reverence not frequently met with in Americans. There is nothing to improve on in the surroundings, the tendency is to set about improving oneself."-Henry Miller
Not long ago, a few years back, I wrote a Blog on The Healing Power of Travel and Wanderlust. Today, reading through the pages of my Sunday Paper, I felt sad and confused, so much news coverage on all the horrible things going on in the world.

The announcement of a ceasefire is, at last, a moment of hope for the people suffering in pain and agony, living hopelessly in darkness and despair.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
‘The Children of Adam
Are limbs of one another,
In terms of Creation,
They're of the self-same Essence.’
(Sa'adi, the Persian poet. His words are inscribed at the entrance to the United Nations Secretariat in New York)

As we witness the horrific consequences of Global Warming, the Climate Crisis, and the Environmental Degradation in the US and around the world, it is worthy to remember and salute Jimmy Carter (RIP), the visionary and prescient president who foresaw the coming of the Global Warming, but was so tragically stopped to take action by the vested interest and the oil barons, the tragedy that has continued to this age.
And now Americans have gifted themselves and the rest of us with ‘drill, baby, drill’for the next four years and more. To my mind, a sad day for humanity and our Mother Nature.
A prophetic memo to President Carter in 1977 that could have changed the course of history

'Years before climate change was part of national discourse, this memo to the president predicted catastrophe...it was prescient in many ways. Did anyone listen?'
